The Grief Aftermath is an album by Fade Into Obscurity – mostly a one-man project by an anonymous musician for which I contributed the drums and cover art.
The seed for this album was sown during a particularly dark personal phase and the aim of the anonymous musician mastermind and myself has always been to create a music project in the spirit of ‘art for art’s sake’. It’s a bit different from my more typical progressive-metal, bassdrum-heavy drumming style. But 𝒕𝙝𝒆 𝒈𝙧𝒊𝙚𝙛 𝒂𝙛𝒕𝙚𝒓𝙢𝒂𝙩𝒉 was a much welcome musical context where I did my best to design less-obvious rhythmic solutions with softer dynamics (with some exceptions 🙃 ) that primarily serve the music.
A similar approach was adapted when coming up with the album artwork concept and its final execution in pencil.
