This is pretty much self-explanatory if you are Maltese.
“‘Bott” means “can” and is the first part of the vulgar Maltese insult “bott liba” – which literally translates to “can of sperm”. The insult is usually directed towards someone with a particularly nasty character – someone untrustworthy and vile. I felt drawn towards the playful irony of having the word ‘liba’ (the equivalent of the word “cum” ) depicted in beautiful typography reminiscent of the instantly recognisable Coca Cola logo.
This is another drawing from the series “Radical Transformations” that was exhibited at the collective exhibition Divergent Thinkers 3 at Blitz in 2014 – wherein I assigned alternative roles to familiar objects.
